Håvard Lund (Former Member)

Håvard Lund, a former member of Farmers Market (1991–1996), is a versatile saxophonist and clarinetist whose musical journey has taken him from jazz ensembles to the remote Arctic landscapes of Norway.

Born on October 20, 1970, in Gildeskål Municipality, Norway, Håvard's early passion for music led him to study at the Jazz Program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium, where he honed his skills and became one of the founding members of Farmers Market in 1991. His contributions on saxophone were integral to the band's unique sound during its formative years.

After leaving Farmers Market in 1996, Håvard continued to make his mark on the Norwegian jazz scene, playing with groups like Frode Fjellheim's Jazzjoik Ensemble and Trygve Seim Ensemble. His career has also seen him compose music for theater productions and serve as a clarinetist for Forsvarets Musikkorps Nord-Norge.

Beyond performance, Håvard has pursued ambitious projects, including developing The Arctic Hideaway, a secluded workspace and retreat on the Fleinvær islands. His compositions often reflect the serene and rugged beauty of the Arctic environment, blending jazz with chamber and world music elements.

Though his time with Farmers Market was just the beginning, Håvard's inventive spirit and dedication to his craft have made him a lasting influence in Norway's diverse musical landscape.
